DoF Verse of the week:

Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame. - (1 Corinthians 15:34 ESV)

Frequently Asked Questions

Why DoF?

Disciplines of Faith (DoF) originated out of a burden for my family and friends.  As the years have gone by, distance has separated more and more of my relationships.  When I eventually realized that geography was forever going to be a preventative factor in ever leading a Bible study with those that I cared about, I began to look for practical ways to (hopefully) continue fulfill a spiritual mentor role.  DoF became my best solution.  Early on my goal was to provide a weekly lesson to aid in the understanding of the Bible and obedience to God’s Word.  Over the years my purpose hasn’t really changed, but there have been variations in my methods.  The site has gone through several transitions and been even been neglected for months on end.  My motivation has often been lacking, but the one thing that has never diminished is my desire to challenge and impact family, friends, acquaintances and now even strangers for the cause of Christ.

Sadly distance and life has taken its toll and those I had in mind at DoF’s genesis are (for the most part) no longer really among the sites visitors.  It took a long time, but I’m finally embracing that fact and realizing that the Lord has his own visitors and purposes in mind for this site.
I now hope to accomplish three goals through DoF:
1. To personally continue to discover Jesus and submit to His Lordship through prayer and the study of God's Word.
2. To help equip and encourage fellow Christians along their path of sanctification.
3. To be faithful in furthering The Kingdom as we all strive toward greater understanding of, and obedience to, God’s Word and His active will.

Why are all comments moderated?

I place a very high priority on the quality of content on this site. In my experience I have learned that there are people out there who sometimes have malicious intentions. I feel it is my responsibility to be diligent in protecting DoF's readers from such attacks. There may also be times when I discern that a comment is either inappropriate or scripturally incorrect. Occasionally I may choose to address these instances at a one on one level rather than a site forum.

How do I get added to DoF’s notification list?

Please email tylerwess@disciplinesoffaith.com and request to be added to DoF's notification list.
